What are Axis’ roots?
Axis was founded in 1986 by two brothers who were bricklayers. They grew their business steadily over the years – we now employ over 1,000 people. Our longevity and experience results in long-term, loyal partnerships and relationships with our clients, and an excellent reputation as a safe pair of hands within our industry.
Where is Axis based?
We are a UK-wide business and work on sites with our clients across the whole country. There are opportunities to work anywhere on these sites, and also at our head office which is is in Stratford in East London and in our offices in the Midlands, Merseyside and in Kent and Essex.
In a nutshell, what does Axis do?
Axis is a leading property services provider – that means we repair and maintain a vast number of properties including homes, offices, schools and shops. We ensure these properties are functioning safely (compliance) and comfortably (for residents and occupants) as well as making them look good too.
If I don’t want to work on a site, what job roles are available at Axis?
Job roles are highly varied, and many of our Axis people work within office or remote-based teams. Our office-based teams play a vital role in looking after our people, our clients and our future growth. Admin, HR, IT, Finance and Marketing all contribute to who we are and what we do. So much so, we call them Business Support!
Can I obtain formal training whilst working at Axis?
Absolutely. We are proud to provide the training that Axis people need to develop personally and professionally. What improves our people equally improves our business so we equip our people with the knowledge, skills, and expertise to deliver quality service. We have our own internal LMS (Learning Management System), work alongside a range of training providers and have a close relationship with many colleges and universities enabling our people to gain formal qualifications whilst working for us.
What about jobs for women?
Whilst males make up a higher percentage of construction workers and labourers, the number of women working within the industry is on the rise, as it’s no longer seen as an industry ‘just for boys’. At Axis, we are working harder to ensure that our Gender Pay Gap gets smaller every year.
Our key Managers, both on and off site, are women.
